It became very clear to me at an early age that my dream of a fine arts degree would likely land me a job sweeping floors in some obscure Arts and Crafts store. Not knowing what I wanted to be when I grew up, I found myself slinging cappucino's and double decaf soy latte's for Colorado's trendy coffee shop elite. I threw all my tips at flying lessons at the local airport.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that all those coffee grounds and espresso beans would launch my career flying airplanes in some of the most remote and dangerous places on earth. It's been quite a ride.
Over the years in my spare time I've continued to paint. I figured I had to do something with all these images that continue to pile up in my dusty portfolio.
