Artist's Description: Just before I moved to California from Colorado I found these delicate California poppies growing in a field one afternoon. I laid them on the paper in my studio and painted through the night, trying to capture the delicate grace and intense color of the flowers. By morning they had wilted, and the painting remained as a lasting impression of their beauty.
