Artists Description:  On very rare occasions, a very high leap tide combined with storms out at sea, create the perfect conditions for generating huge surf at Coronado Beach. This rare condition was captured by photographer Oscar G Medina along with the historic Hotel Del Coronado. The historic Hotel Del Coronado is the setting for the movie "Some Like It Hot" with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. Coronado Beach is consistently voted one of the top 10 beaches in the America, year after year.  This photograph served as the inspiration for an original painting by watercolor artist Tina Christiansen.
