Description: A pair of pelicans glides over the whitewater surge above Seal Rock near La Jolla Cove.  Below them and to the right, the dark rounded forms of sleeping seals can be seen.  Seal Rock has long been a  place for seals to haul out, relax and sun themselves between swims.  Watching the seals get onto the steep rock from the water-especially when there are waves-is an amazing sight; most people would have difficulty doing it under any circumstances. A slightly abstract finish brings out the rough surface of the rock and the texture of the waves and sea.
